Almond Banana Walnut Bread - Pack of 4Quick Add
If you’re feeling distracted, overwhelmed, or anxious, or unusually cold or dry, or if your digestion is gassy and bloated, these are likely indications that your wind and air element, your vata dosha, is imbalanced...
The key quality of our vata dosha is motion. If that’s our main dosha, we are quick, enthusiastic, and imaginative. But when it’s all too much, when we’re quickly fatigued, when our sleep or digestion is off, then there’s too much motion in our lives, and our vata is aggravated. In the simple and common-sense approach of Ayurveda, we just have to slow it down. So instead of salads, we might enjoy warm, cooked, and nourishing foods. Soothing grains like amaranth, quinoa, and rice are good; most fruits like baked apples, bananas, coconut, peaches, pears, and fresh figs are wonderful. Milk, yogurt, and ghee are grounding and beneficial. And also, almonds -- so good for Vata, and the reason that Surya’s delicious Almond Flour Bread came into being. A vata-calming Dosha Yoga flow is helpful, as well as walks in nature, meditation, breathing exercises, moonlight, a light pre-shower massage with warm Vata Balancing Body Oil: all of this helps vata's streaming movement to settle down, and our relentless drive towards the next thing -- whatever it is -- takes a welcome rest. Then, balanced and restored, that good and sparkling vata energy, that life-loving enthusiasm, is once again part of our day.
